Metering pumps are used in a variety of industrial applications where precision dosing of chemicals is critical to the process. These processes include water treatment, wastewater treatment, cleaning and material preparation, and many more. Dart Controls offers a complete line of motor speed controls for 3-phase AC, DC, and brushless DC motors used in metering pump applications.
Most chemical dosing systems include a supervisory controller (DCS, PLC / HMI) where the dosing requirement is managed. These Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems need to communicate with the metering pump using industry proven control signals (typically 4-20mA, or serial communication). This allows for automatic adjustment of the pump dosing to accomplish the final measured variable target. In addition, the control often must provide a means for local (manual) control of the pump during system commissioning, troubleshooting and regular preventative maintenance tasks.
Dart Controls offers four controller series options depending on motor type being used with the pump:
- DCPM motors
- 253G Series with signal follower option – Auto/Off/Manual switch included
- MD Plus Series – digital closed-loop speed control with 4-20mA or serial interface options
- 3-phase AC motors
- *NEW* EZ VFD® variable frequency drive with Modbus RTU serial interface
- DC brushless motors
- BLM 700 Series BLDC closed-loop speed control with 4-20mA or serial interface options – for remote/solar applications where maintenance needs to be minimized
